Sometimes Gambling Can Be Good For Your Finances

Hey fancy people! I’m glad to be back after a long absence to do a guest post on RDS.

I’ll admit, I’ve missed being a bit snarky in my writing and this site was a great outlet for that energy each week. But, I’ve made a lot of changes in my business since leaving RDS and I’m working hard to grow my business and be more visible in the community.

Today I want to talk about gambling, but before you burn me at the stake, hear me out.

There are times that gambling can be good for your finances. Let me give you some examples.

Bet On Your Weight Loss

One of the ways I’ve gambled is by betting on myself. I know this is something Erin talked about way back in the day too. She decided to bet some money to make herself more motivated to lose weight.

While I haven’t bet money on weight loss, I have heard that it’s a good method to stay motivated because no one wants to lose the money they’ve put into a weight loss pot. Instead, I’ve bet on myself by using my FitBit to do step challenges with my friends. We all put in the same amount of money and whoever wins the challenge at the end of the week gets the cash.

Bet on Your Business

Another way that gambling can be good for your finances is if you bet on your business.

While I don’t really gamble in the traditional sense when it comes to my business, I do gamble by spending money on new tools, equipment, resources, etc. There is always a risk that these things won’t pay off, which is why it’s a gamble.

Luckily, most of the things I’ve spent money on for my business have worked out pretty well. The key for me is taking the time to make sure I really want to spend the money on a new tool or piece of equipment before pulling the trigger.

I usually do this by finding a free or cheap way to test it out first before buying a more expensive option. For instance, when I wasn’t sure how much freelancing I was going to do, I bought a cheap laptop. Now that I freelance full-time as my sole source of income, I bought a much more expensive MacBook.

Gambling can be problematic for some people, and I get that. But if you gamble in some of these safe ways, it can actually make you healthier, happier, and possibly even richer. You might even try bettingtop10.

Can you think of other ways that gambling could be good for your finances?
