4 Reasons I Love Getting Paid to Write for Blogs

This post is a part of the Get Paid to Write for Blogs Course Launch. Get Paid to Write for Blogs is a brand new course created by Cat Alford of Budget Blonde. Cat makes a full-time income from writing for blogs and this course will teach you how to do the same.

I started getting paid to write for blogs this time last year. In fact, next week marks my official 1 year anniversary of working with our fearless leader, Cat, and I’ve loved every minute of it.

After getting started with my online freelance writing for blogs last July, the income it generates has steadily grown each month up to the point where I’m earning nearly as much (net) from writing for blogs as I am from working at my day job for 40 hours/week. In fact, I’ve been contemplating quitting my job lately to make writing for blogs my new full-time job instead.

So it’s obvious that I love getting paid to write for blogs and here are 4 reasons why:

I Get to be Creative

In my current FT job, I don’t have much opportunity to be creative. I’m in financial analysis, so I basically crunch numbers on my calculator all day.

Getting paid to write for blogs is awesome because:

  1. I get paid.
  2. I get paid.
  3. I get to use my creative energy.
  4. I get paid.

I think you are starting to see the point.

But seriously, I love getting paid to write for blogs because I am allowed to use my creative in writing posts and even in helping other business owners grow their businesses and begin new ventures. It’s an amazing feeling to get paid to help with something you are passionate about!

I Get to Set My Own Schedule

The second thing I love about getting paid to write for blogs is that I can set my own schedule. Of course I still have to meet the deadlines set forth by my clients, but they don’t care if I work on the weekends, over my lunch hour, or at 2 a.m. when I just can’t sleep because I’m so motivated and passionate about what I’m doing. (Yes, this has happened.)

I Get to Wear My Pajamas/Yoga Pants

I’m not kidding about this one you guys, one of the things I love the best about getting paid to write for blogs is that I can wear whatever I want, including my pajamas or my most ratty (yet comfy) pair of yoga pants.

About the only time it matters what you wear when you are getting paid to write for blogs is if you have a video interview. Then you better put on a nice shirt and fix your hair.

(But they’ll still never know if you don’t put on “real” pants. Mwwwhahaha!)

I Get to Dream Again

The absolute best thing about getting paid to write for blogs is that it has opened up a whole new world of possibilities to me. I’m able to dream again and have the income, or the possibility of enough income, to do whatever I want to do. When you are getting paid to write for blogs, you income potential is absolutely unlimited. You can make as much or as little as you want depending on the amount of effort you put into your business.

When I started getting paid to write for blogs last year I made the mistake of not taking any kind of course to help me get started. I made some rookie mistakes and didn’t start out treating my business like a business from the get-go. I know that if I had taken a course like Cat’s Get Paid to Write for Blogs course I would have avoided some of these early mistakes and growing pains. I’ve still been successful, but there’s no telling how much further ahead I’d be now if I had invested in a course like hers back then.

  1. I hear you on not getting to be creative at work. While I do get to write at work, it’s very formulaic and boring. Needing a creative outlet is why I started blogging in the first place. I’m now dreaming of being able to work in yoga pants and set my own schedule!
